Dear Cloud,
Although, I have some idea of what the `tray' ceiling looks like but have not seen one closely so cannot (fully) comment on how `bad' it is.
Overall, two Feng Shui `tools' are available:
1. A pair of flutes in a `Ba Gua formation'
----- <- ceiling
/ \ <- two flutes
2. Windchime
One has to be cautious if one uses it in the room or at any other locations in the house.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil
