Dear Spring,
Currently it is difficult to visualise the good luck plant you are referring to.
But if it is the Money Plant, then it is also known as crassula ovata. For a money plant it is more a vine (plant) than bamboo.
Alternatively, I am not sure if you are referring to the Hyacinth or hyacinthus orientalis. This is a upward growing plant. It flowers with either pink, light yellow, blue or white.
