Dear Wendy,
Usually if there are the edge of opposite blocks pointing towards your door; normally, the best solution is still the use of a Ba Gua mirror. Especially since, the main door is facing the common chute.
The alternative is to use a semi-circular mat (raditating outwards) placed at the main entrance area. This is less effective to counteract the edge of opposite blocks.
