One best test to see if a mirror is located in a good or bad location is by sitting on the bed. If you can see your profile in the mirror either lying down or simply setting on the bed, this is considered no good under Feng Shui. The rationale is because, it was felt that when we sleep, our souls leave our body and when it sees itself in a mirror, it will get a `shock'. This view is widely held although some authors may interpret this differently but still hold on to this concept.
In my website, I mentioned that, if you do not have a problem and can sleep peacefully with a mirror facing you, then, go ahead but if you have restless sleeps, perhaps, you may want to look at removing the mirror or avoid placing one. But if you were to ask me, I still follow the above `practise' of not having mirrors facing our bed.
For a mirror above the bed, since you can see your profile, it would be better to follow `Feng Shui' taboo and where possible.. not have it there.
I am not sure if anyone has done a scientific survey on this FS taboo. If there is, we can then really understand if what we are practising now is `correct'.

User's Comments Dear Sir, I will be getting my resales flat soon and would like to advise on the feng shui before moving in. I had check in your website and was very impressive of the services provided. Regards -- Thank you for your response Mr. Lee. I really wish you could be somewhere here near manila-philippines so i could have my unit checked. It is such a relief to get your opinion most specially when you mentioned that fengshui should not be so rigid. I also agree with you when you say that little lucky ornaments being promoted by some masters are for business intentions and non-sense. Best regards and more power to you and your team. |
